Roy Lichtenstein painted many works. Even his less famous paintings can be recognized in many public places. His unique style is very noticeable and stands out amongst other paintings. Roy Lichtenstein contributed many masterpieces with his Pop Art Paintings. Which usually included a girl, either crying or in a kissing scene. He often included aircrafts as well. The most famous paintings Whaam! depicts a fighter aircraft firing at an enemy plane. In Whaam!Bam! and his more passionate paintings, he used his warm colors: red, orange, yellow, black, and sometimes blue published off his Comic Book paintings. His use of oil paints is very interesting. Different from Picasso you may say. His own quote states,” Picasso himself would probably have thrown up looking at my pictures!” Also contemporary art critiques once called him, “The Worst American Artist ever.” Even though such paintings like Drowning Girl, Thinking of Him, The Kiss, and so on in 1972 were selling at the highest prices ever for any living artist. Roy Lichtenstein is no doubt the master at Pop Art.
